Oil spill reaches Kauai

I tried not to say it, but it's already out there.

"The oil spill is affecting the Kauai market" It's awful what's happening on the east coast.
Family, jobs, their way of life - everything will change in the coming decade. For years we've had to endure the constant whining that Hawaii real estate is so expensive! Is it? Is there a real number you can put on clean air, clean water, and friendly people? Sorry for preaching to the choir, you know what I'm talking about. The rest of you, don't worry. Kauai's lifestyle is unique and there's still time to discover it.

Sure there's bad wherever you go, but I'm waiting for those sensitive folks at SNL to create a skit that has Grandma and Grandpa with the kids at an oil stricken beach with their little girl saying, "Look Grandma, Tommy's a monk seal!" (Poor kid is covered with black gooey oil) Not funny, not funny at all! For us parents/grandparents- these are our pride and joy! We wouldn't dare subject them to toxic chemicals!

Does that kind of talk inspire you to buy? I don't think so, but maybe a savvy investor who's always had a spot in his heart to own on Kauai will put two and two together and come to the conclusion that it's gonna suck real soon around Florida and up through the Carolinas as gooey oil patches invade those beaches, and as home prices plummet in that area, prices in sunny Poipu will start to rise.

Hey, I'm not the bad guy, I didn't spill anything. As a matter of fact, I could potentially be saving you thousands of dollars- and if we weren't friends before, I think if someone kept $10,20 30, 60, 80 thousand dollars in your pocket, you'd get that tingly feeling inside.

IF you are in the market to buy, and IF it's within your financial capability to do so, then consider this factor called, "timing". Give me a call, I can help you if the time's right for you.

from www.kauaidiscovery.com:

LĪHU‘E, KAUA‘I – It’s an exciting time for Kaua‘i with another blockbuster Hollywood movie production making plans to begin location filming this summer and utilize the spectacular beauty of the “Garden Island” in telling its story.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have Disney coming to Kaua‘i to film Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and fans can expect our island to look as gorgeous and inviting as ever when the movie hits the big screen,” said Sue Kanoho, executive director for the Kaua‘i Visitors Bureau. “Being in the midst of Kaua‘i’s beauty is always such an enjoyable and inspiring experience. It’s by far the quality that visitors and Hollywood find most appealing whenever they come here.”
