Once a Month Church, Haleiwa, Oahu, HI

Once A Month Church  7/29/2012

Brother Dennis praying for the keiki (children) at Once a Month Church on Oahu.  With approximately 750 in attendance, Haleiwa Beach Park is in it's usual buzz every fourth Sunday of the month.

Sadly, founder of OAMC, Pastor Ron Valenciana passed away during the event at his home about a mile away.  His short battle with cancer ended his time with us, but left a legacy in helping those in need.  Fellow members of OAMC have announced that there will be another "service" on August 26.  Future plans for the monthly gathering are still being discussed.

(Tim Mira emcees Once A Month Church, Haleiwa, for Pastor Ron during his illness.)

On the island of Kauai, Church on the Beach is an offspring of Pastor Ron's vision.  Kauai Bible Church in Omao closes it's doors every third Sunday to bring the gospel message to the people at Salt Pond Beach Park.  Pastor Merv Walker's "fatherly" leadership encourages his members to be doers of the word and not merely hearers by transforming the park to a place of worship.

Read the book of James and be blessed by the word of God.

Free Condo in Poipu, Kauai, Hawaii...if you

Eagle the 11th hole for a free night at Koloa Landing!

Koloa Landing at Poipu Beach has offered a challenge to all golfers participating in the Kiahuna Golf Course's  "Friday Skins Game" to win a free night's stay at their resort.
The driveable par four becomes a test of accuracy and power as the dogleg left will tempt you to go straight for the pin, but beware of the 270 yard carry over one of the few archealogical sites amongst the course!  Once on the green, make the putt and you have your one night stay.

The Friday Skins Game starts at 12:30pm each week, offering great prices for kamaaina and visitors alike.  Closest to the pin prizes will score you a free round at the course.  Call the proshop at 808-742-9595 for more details about the game.  See you on Friday!

Mortgage Foreclosure Dispute Resolution (MFDR) Program

If you are in a "distressed" situation regarding your home in Hawaii,  you should check out the new Mortgage Foreclosure Dispute Resolution Program.  It's not available for everyone, but it might be able to you.

Some are saying that Governor Abercrombie has signed what may be the "toughest foreclosure prevention bill in the nation", as stated in a blog by "Mandelman Matters".  The following link contains the article which explains the cause and provision for this new bill, which  may help many Hawaii families from losing their homes from foreclosure.  http://mandelman.ml-implode.com/2011/05/breaking-news-hawaii-passes-sb-651-nation%E2%80%99s-toughest-foreclosure-bill/

A summary of the new bill is contained in the following link:
http://www.khon2.com/media/lib/128/5/0/7/507b0fd1-e31c-4b16-8b76-8a839dae841f/SB_651_Condensed_Summary.pdf

The new law provides for mandatory mediation in the non-judicial foreclosure process… so, if a homeowner requests mediation, the servicer must participate… “And do so in good faith,” Hawaii Senator Roz Baker is quick to add.
