 The Kauai-All Island Band is comprised of students in 7th grade through their freshman year of college at Kauai Community College.  The schools represented in this band are Kauai High School, Waimea High School, Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School and Kauai Community College.  This will be the first time a group from Hawaii will perform in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C. in May of this year.  They will also be performing a couple of concerts in the Washington, D.C. area. 

All proceeds from golf tournament registration fees, hole sponsors, luncheon and silent auction purhcases will benefit the Kauai All-Island Band in assisting them with costs associated with this performance trip such as uniforms, shipping, instruments and other incidentals.

I hope you will be able to participate in this tournament.  And please spread the word to all your golfer friends.  We would appreciate having as many participants as possible to make this golf tournament a success.

Team KOLOA LANDING wins 9th annual HLTA-Kauai Chapter, 2014 Golf Tournament

Kauai Lagoons was the playground for the 9th annual 2014 Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association-Kauai chapter Golf Tournament on Saturday, January  25th.   Being the 9th annual event,  9th place winners, Team KOLOA LANDING,  was awarded the 1st place prize.

I love to golf. I can't imagine not being able to golf. My new friend (in white shirt) used to be a golf pro. But due to disability, is not able to play a round of golf anymore. He always wished to golf in Hawaii. 

 

 So with the help of the golf course staff, we were able to get him to play hole 1 and 9. 

And now he can check this off his "bucket list".

Beautiful day in Poipu

Would you believe we had thunderstorms and rain yesterday? As for today, "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!".

Poipu property sold for $13,000,000 and a BIG mushroom

Top news of the day for Kauai real estate was the sale of 21.45 acres of vacant, resort designated, Poipu land. The "Royal Palms" property, located in the heart of Poipu, was purchased from Kiahuna Fund LLC/etal for $13,000,000 this morning. The new buyers were represented by Yamanake Enterprises Inc. realtors from Hilo, Hawaii. The "Royal Palms" property was one of approximately a dozen Poipu projects that had high hopes of profitting from the Kauai resort market. Per various "Royal Palms" press releases back in 2006 and 2007, the developers intended to build 164 units of 1,2,3 bedroom condos and intended to sell them for $600,000 to $1,300,000 a unit. However, that was not to be, and the property was left undeveloped since 2007. The property is located mauka of the Poipu Shopping Village center and is located next to the Kiahuna Golf Course. So what does this say about the Poipu market? Curious minds want to know :)
