Wainani at Poipu
Wainani Update
For the rest of you who didn’t get a personal phone call or email from me, Wainani’s Sales Team has closed their doors! Several calls to the Sales Center have gone unanswered, only a “Temporarily Closed” note hangs on their sales office door!
My prior posted Wainani update talked about the "Summer Stimulus" prices. Apparently these prices were too good to be true. The prices were so low, they pulled the plug on themselves! What’s to become of this, you ask?
Be patient my friends. I still believe that Wainani has great property value in Poipu. It’s not IF, but WHEN these home sites come back on the market. And when they do, you’ll want to know about it.
If you recall, after I worked for Kukui'ula for a year, I was asked to join the Maryl Realty team at Wainani. I spent six months as the Lead Kauai Salesperson for Wainani before the economy started heading south. Now I'm back at Makai Properties, and thankful for the "lessons" and "valuable information" obtained during my short but intense time with Kukui'ula and Wainani.
Wainani will be back...and hopefully packaged right for this market!! Stay tuned......

Poipu Beach Estates
Updated map of Poipu Beach Estates. Yellow highlight designates lots available for sale.
(Click on map to zoom in)
There are 9 lots for sale ranging from 11,256 sq. ft - 1.25 acres, priced from $309,000 - $825,000. In my opinion, this will be an exciting new neighborhood for Poipu. Poipu Beach Estates is within walking distance to the "soon to open" Kukui'ula Village and the famous Poipu Beach park.
Some of the highlights of Poipu Beach Estates include the following:
*Low monthly fees
*Underground utilities with digital phone, cable and internet
*Located in the Vacation Destination Area where vacation rentals are possible with County approval
*Additional Dwelling Unit allowed; restrictions applicable
*Two water supplies-County water for home use and Ag water at a much reduced cost for irrigating your landscaping

Raiatea Helm in Concert
What a privilege I had this weekend to be at Raiatea Helm's 25th Birthday concert at the Hawaii Theater in Oahu. This young gal, from Molokai, will be one of Hawaii's music legends. Her ability to capture the essence of old Hawaii in her purely captivating Hawaiian falsetto, the likes of Lena Machado and Genoa Keawe, is a sound our young Hawaii generation has been missing out on. She will be the bridge that connects Hawaii past to Hawaii future. Be on the look out for this up and coming star!! And how did we get to go to this "by invitation only" concert? Her mom, Etta, is our high school classmate, hailing from Waimea High school, Class of 1977!!
If she's ever your way, don't miss the chance to hear her!! You will not be disappointed!!

Kauai's Golf Courses
The Garden Island offers nine courses at seven golf venues ranging from Kukuiolono’s charming 9-hole layout with spectacular views of Niihau to resort courses that have hosted LPGA events and the PGA of America’s Grand Slam of Golf.
Three major resorts dominate the Kauai golfscape: Princeville on the spectacular north shore, which offers 45 holes at two locations (Prince & Makai), Kauai Lagoons’ 36 holes (Kiele & Mokihana) nestled near the Lihue airport, and the 18-hole Poipu Bay Resort layout along Kauai’s southern coastline. Independent daily fee courses are found in Poipu at Kiahuna Golf Course and in Lihue at the Puakea Golf Course.
